As the current situation will heavily impact not only public budgets and organizations, but also the independent arts sector, on 10 March 2020, at an extraordinary meeting of representatives of contributory arts organisations on the measures adopted due to the presence of COVID-19 in the Czech Republic, Minister of Culture Lubomír Zaorálek authorised the Arts and Theatre Institute in Prague to carry out research on the impact of the Ministry of Health’s Extraordinary Measures on the independent Czech arts sector. Data collection is taking place via a questionnaire and will conclude at 13:00 on 16 March 2020.
The short questionnaire prepared by ATI is intended for representatives of umbrella organisations and professional associations, as well as for entities, individuals and other professionals who work in the independent arts scene and are not part of a larger organisation. The questionnaire in Czech is accessible here. Data collection will close on Monday 16.3.2020 at 13:00. Next meeting with the minister of culture is scheduled for 17 March. To avoid duplication of data, ATI is collaborating on data collection with other organisations and media that are carrying out their own research.
